Professional wakeboarder, instructor, TV presenter and commentator
With a Bronze Medal in windsurfing from the Beijing Olympics - Britain’s first Olympic medal in the sport - Bryony Shaw encapsulates the spirit of adventure. She was born in Wandsworth in 1983 and grew up in landlocked Oxford. She first tried windsurfing on holiday, aged nine; now, sponsored by Skandia, she races in the RS:X class.
Bryony has experience chasing waves and weather all over the UK - as well as windsurfing, she loves wave-sailing, surfing, snowboarding and golf. So it’s no surprise she needs the versatile space and robust functionality offered by the Transporter Sportline kombi.
You can meet Bryony and check out a fully specced-up Lifestyle Vehicle at the Cornwall Holiday Beach Hop on Friday 24 and Sunday 26 July. |

British National WakeSkate 2008 Champion, professional wakeboarder, extreme sports commentator, journalist, presenter and watersports instructor: Matt Crowhurst has quite a few strings to his bow. And now he's got one more. We've given him a fully kitted up Volkswagen Transporter Sportline kombi to take him and his boards, boat, jetski and winch to some of his favourite events across the UK this summer.
The Volkswagen Transporter Sportline kombi has already taken Matt to the Alliance Think Tank Wakeskate Jam, this year's GoldCoast Oceanfest, and the British Championships to defend his National Wakestock title.
The stylish Transporter Sportline kombi available as a van with a long wheelbase, and now as a five seater kombi as well. And for Matt, it's the perfect getaway vehicle. |
Writing for Rough Guides and Lonely Planet took Jonathan Knight around the world. Now back in the UK, he travels the length and breadth of the country with a Volkswagen California, writing about and photographing Britain’s best campsites for his own series of Cool Camping guidebooks.
The first Cool Camping: England appeared in 2006. Since then, camping’s image in the UK has changed beyond recognition. Thanks to Jonathan’s books, more and more people are discovering each day just how easy it is to escape the 9 to 5. All you need is the right location, the right transport, and someone like Jonathan to blaze the trail.
With further camping guides to Wales, Scotland, Europe, and Festivals already under their belts, Jonathan and his team of writers are showing no signs of letting up. Well, it would be a shame to see that California go to waste. |
